INDEPENDENCE DAY FIREWORKS!
THANK YOU GUALALA PATRIOTS FOR TWO GREAT YEARS OF SUPPORT! Even though over 3000 of you participated in each of the last 2 years events, the California Coastal Commission is abusing its power by ordering the Gualala Festivals Committee to “Cease & Desist”. The Coastal Commission is being the Fourth of July Grinch. We have no choice, we must comply. The Coastal Commission has won this round but we will not give up the right to celebrate our independence like every small town across the United States. We are a proud Gualala and we should not be singled out as the only small town that is required to have a Coastal Development Permit. This is ludicrous as well as unjust. We will pursue this to a trial court with the support of the Pacific Legal Foundation later this year.
